The premise

A consulting firm's advantage is knowing what changed before the client does. In practice, four analysts skim hundreds of sources and most of what they read is noise. Genuinely important signals arrive late, filtered through whoever happened to be reading that morning.

How we would approach it

  1. 01

Define relevance per client, not per topic

Each client account gets an explicit interest model — exposures, competitors, regulatory surface — so relevance is judged against a position, not a keyword.

  2. 02

    Summarise with provenance

Every claim in a brief links to its source passage. An analyst can verify in one click, and the system is never the only witness.

  3. 03

    Optimise for silence

The success metric is not volume of briefs. It is how rarely the system interrupts, and how often the interruption was justified.

  4. 04

Turn the desk into a product

The same engine becomes a client-facing intelligence feed — a service line the firm can sell rather than an internal cost.

What we would build

  • Per-account relevance models

  • Ingestion and summarisation pipeline with citation binding

  • Analyst review and escalation interface

  • Client-facing intelligence feed

What it is meant to prove

Concept goal: raise the ratio of acted-upon signals to delivered alerts, and prove that an internal research function can become a billable product.

Stated as an objective, not an outcome. This concept has not been delivered for a client, so there is no measured result to report — and we will not invent one.
